Hand-shaped pieces crafted from Cassius Clay are thoughtfully balanced on Steel, creatively elevating them into unique shapes and forms that captivate the viewer's attention.

This series developed purely out of experimentation with paint and shapes. For the first time I combined geometric images and intuition. I was led to an in-depth discovery of symbols, both American Indian and Hobo. Both used symbols to communicate, and I discovered many similarities between the two which influenced my mark-making and brought forth these new works.

What came up for me during the painting process? Allowing myself to become comfortable with the unknown. I am embracing this companion “unknown” with curiosity and trust. 

The Spirit Dog series was born from a desire to create more play in my work. As a dog lover this series allowed me to connect with the physical expression of my subjects, and let that spirit guide me.
